So yea, wat up wit everyone? Okay so straight to the point... I, Shy, came up with an awesome (kinda original) idea at around 3 am earlier this morning. Okay so you know that show College Life... or whatever its called, well it sucked, majorly. It didn't even get into depth of what College is really about, I mean it was so biased it only covered the lives of the Frosh and yeah they were all of the "lite skinned" persuasion. Like c'mon, beer pong tho? Not that me and Pheebs don't enjoy our fair share of drinking games, it just didn't really show what college students like Davey, Pheebs and I, go through on the daily. So we are all going to purchase video cameras, not cameras with video on them... but legit video cameras and we are going to document our life at our accredited Universities. Although Pheebs and Davey attend the Same university... and campus, trust me they both run into their fair share of diverse drama. And me ya homegirl, will be documenting my hectic and drama prone existence at my HBCU... ooh and No! it will be nothing like College Hill, it will be 100% real! The only thing that will be added is music, because who really wants to hear background sounds of people coughing and talking about uninteresting things. But yes, trust we will be having some juicy stuff on the new video blog. That is still yet to be created. The unemployed lifestyle is hardly conducive to a young lady like me. I have a terrible spending habit and a work ethic that needs to feed that habit.

So yea. I dont know what it is about me and guys, but i tend to cut them off pretty quickly. I dont know they just get uber annoying. First they wanna take you out. Then text you non stop then kiss up on you and thats just when it gets to be too much for me! They lose my interest fast. Its pretty easy to bore me, like for instance talking on the phone about my day.. Boring! Watching countless hours of ESPN equals boring! So rite check it, I've been up in this house for almost a week now. and im bored as hell! I've been laying on my couch aimlessly finding one show that I can tune into for more than 4 minutes, I mean daytime t.v is hella stupid! Like I think it happens to all college students who come home for break. We complain and bitch about how much we want to go home and leave wack ass campus, but then as soon as we set foot into our cribs its like we get this sudden "oh no" type feeling. Cus ya'll all know as well as I know that the people's is gonna be carrying on and asking you about grades, how your classes went, what organizations are you involved in.. blah blah etc. and then you're forced to reply. But the worst part of the stay is when you realize that the priveleges you had back on campus are totally not taken into consideration at all while your home. Point in case; Leaving at 1 am just to go hang out with your Friends on a lame Wednesday nite, def can't do that with the moms, she will def freak!. Spending the nite with your boo, Ha Yea Rite! you already know the answer to that one. Thirsty Thursdays, More like Laundry Thursdays at the crib. So yea see all the things we are free to do without even thinking twice we can only do on campus. So the next time you complain about how whack campus is and how badly you want to go home, just remember the feeling you felt when you were restless channel surfing through t.v. on your people's couch.

Yays! Yays! School is out! I would like to take this time now to parlay my sincere apologies for the neglection of posts to OJFresh, its just that me and my fellow colleagues had friggin finals! like hey, what did yall want us to do? School always comes first remember that! So to kind of sum up the last days of my semester, here are my top 15 moments of Spring 2009!
1.I bought the baddest lil number and ripped the dancefloor like it was Alexander McQueen's runway! Sasha Fierce? oh no.. Cashmere Avenue Honay!
2. I went for the Urban version of "Rosie The Riveter" I diggs I diggs, I fu*ks I fu*ks!
3. I was at the envy of every smurf in the world with my gorgeous Beverly Johnsonish Smurf blue spring Coat... yes let the envy seep through!
4. I became a "Best Out" Model.. which quickly diminshed... all because of a 40 oz. smh..
5. I was the only feline brave enuff on my campus to rock the circle scarf look, oooh honestly how could I resist...

6. My leggs got hella toned thanks to wearing heels all year long... I think the only time I wore sneakers twice in a row was during finals.. hey we can't all be glam 24/8! got 2 pics for that one.

7.Oh yea, I model now... "1 Entity Couture" and my modeling identity is Luscious D (The D stands for Donk) as if you wouldn't have guessed ;)

8. This dress... this dress rite here.. Whoo boii! would you believe it was originally a shirt that my sister got for my mother on Mother's Day last year, and she hated it! So I thus created it! Gosh Gee! Im A-Some!

9. I rocked the big hair look for promptly 9 hours, shoutout to Ashley for makin it happen! I felt like I was a pageant mom from Texas, but hey they loved it!

10. Went to an open mic, it was freezing, and I was wearing my olive maxi dress... was not happy. i look nude.. but im not.. but it sure felt like it.

11.Became President of S.W.A.U (Spoken Word Artists United) finally, now its time for business, Ill only be a tyrant on Tuesday's meeting promise :)

12. "Mic Check" my campus radio show with my co-host "D-Roc" came to an end, until next semester, and I must say that last show was poppin'! everyone and they mamas was tuned in! Mad callers, Mad gossip, Mad laughs! Mad memories! Until Next semester!... oh and we got ranked #2 show on-air. #1 late nite show 12-2am baby Late Nite Hour!

13. Got the title of Miss "WDSU Radio" yays! So so far Im Miss Black and Gold, President of S.W.A.U, Treasurer and founder of E.L.I.T.E, and Miss WDSU Radio. Next Year hopefully, Miss DSU.

14. I became a founding member of E.L.I.T.E (Educated Ladies Igniting True Essence) So didn't get the position I applied for ahem... Prez, but got Treasurer. Hey either way Im just excited there's finally a organization on campus that will uplift the negative rep of the black women on this here campus.
15. And finally I kept my fashionista like fierrrceness up, all the way til Finals! A-Some!

I DON'T CARE I LIKE Asher Roth's album, Asleep In the Bread Isle... LOL.

He's gotten a lot of flack for being white and sounding like Eminem (which he sung about see 'As I Em'), but I'll admit I'm impressed. It's a fun album. He's no Nas or Mos Def (best rappers alive in my opinion,) but he's not bad. Ngl, I was expecting lame lines, going on about di pum-pum he probably doesn't get and more stuff similar to 'I Love College,' but nope, I actually caught myself going "oh shit!" a couple of times.

"His Dream" is stands out. "Bad Day" had me cracking up. "She Don't Want a Man" with Keri Hilson is a decent dance track. Here's "Fallin"... my favorite pick.

I had no idea that pop-punk band The Starting Line was on hiatus, yet alone its lead singer Kenny would be performing at the Movin' On Music Festival with his band, Person L. Wow. Kenny has definitely matured since the days of Starting Line. His voice is a lot richer and the lyrics are deeper. Davey and I agree they were the best of the day. In the caf at my school, we have these 3 huge plasma screen tv's. I know it would seem like I go to a top University with tons of dough, but sadly these are our only luxuries, that and the fact that we have a Checkers franchise in one of our eating halls. But anyways, these 3 3 huge plasma screen tv's are always on MTV U. So we always see the latest music Videos. However, I go to a Black University and a good 89% of the videos are all indie artists. But there are a couple of videos that catches everyone's ears and eyes, like The Ting Tings "That's Not My Name" and Asher Roth's "I Love College" but there is a new hit that is soon to be everybody's ringtone, Chester French's "She Loves Everybody" Now this video starts off pretty classic, in a nice Black and White mode, then suddenly violence and Domestic abuse comes out of nowhere, but don't fret! Drake [Government: Aubrey Graham] is what is referred to as an overnite sensation. With the online dropping of "So Far Gone" he has produced over 300,000 new fans, not mentioning the 2 million fans who followed him throughout his acting career in the hit The N dramatical series "Degrassi". Drake's sound can be described as a rapper who is clearly influenced by weezy with a fresh r&b singing voice, over beats that are cousins to Kanye's "808's and Heartbreak". So lately i've been od obsessed with Web MD. I mean the whole Del State Campus is going under the bubonic plague all over again! I mean I was really bad a week ago, sweating in my sleep then waking up cold and naked wondering why, not realizing that I stripped my clothes off cus I got too hot! I mean It didnt feel like I was sick, it felt more like I was going through a heroine withdrawal. But anyway Web MD has totally been my guiding light through this whole process. From the home remedies to showing me the disgusting pictures of Shingles! I mean sometimes I don't even have the sickness Im looking up, but its just interesting none the less. Its like the wikipedia of health! So now Im only relying on Web MD so long physicians!

So yea, Im in a pageant. Just thought you guys should know. Its actually my university's annual Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Miss Black and Gold pageant. And its like 12 of us feenin to get that grand ole tiara. But I mean its been pretty fun so far. The girls [well some of em anyway] have been really nice. I am just excited to wear a gown. I haven't worn one since my senior prom. The pageant is as follows; theres an intro dance, business attire, swimsuit attire, talent segment and finally the evening gown/ questions. So basically Ive just been youtubing and watching a bunch of past pageants to get tips and everything. So basically Im gonna need a tub of vaseline, so that I can put some under my gums so I can be forced to smile hours upon hours. Im gonna also need some butt spray to keep my bathing suit from riding up, and Im going to need a charming laugh. That im still working on A-ha-ha-harrrr... Wow! It's been like forever since i've posted on here. I believe the last time was when we found out that we were gonna have a black president [OBAMA!] But yea, basically I was indulged with stuffing my face with turkey and studying for finals...which are finally over! So now I keep myself busy with this whole christmas thing now. i don't know Im not really in the Christmas spirit, as you say, this year. Maybe cause my dad no longer wraps presents for me and my sister anymore. Yea he just kinda gives us giftcards, which by all means is not bad, at all. Its just that I think once parents have kids that well, aren't quite kids anymore, they feel that they don't have to put anything under the tree for them. You kno just give them a $50 card towards best buy or something and that should keep us happy. But in reality I really get excited, inside, when I see a big wrapped gift under a tree with my name on it. Im actually jealous of all my lil cuzzos who get to still have that wonderful experience. But no, it's nothing but visa and Victoria's Secret cards for me, that I totally just waste on purchasing Auntie Ann's pretzels and tons of panties. Either I guess I should be thankful. For my indie-heads, I introduce you to the band, FRIENDLY FIRES. I've been listening to their album for almost a month now on repeat and I can't get enough of them.

According to their MySpace, they're a trio from Europe and currently on tour with Lykke Li (featured here on the music player) right now. If you're a fan of Gossip Girl, you've heard their song, "White Diamonds" which was featured in the episode where they all visit Yale and Nate spots his "college fling."

With their electro-pop sound, I've got 10 bucks that says they'll be one of the most talked about bands like MGMT of '08 into '09. iTunes Genius links them with Death From Above 1979, Santo, Bloc Party and Sam Sparro... to which I concur lol.

I'm not going to lie. I was one of the non-believers when Obama first came out. I was one the many who laughed and were like "yeah... okay..." when he said 'I wanna get in this too.' There are hardly any blacks in senate and house to begin with! So I assumed at this point it would be Hilary vs. McCain.

But it wasn't until May that I started to really believe in him as a possibility. The fact that he was STILL in it, I was like "Okay, maybe he's got something going on."

I voted today for the first time in my life because I care... I wanted change.. I wanted to be counted for something.

And it worked.

I have never been so proud right now. I am in tears.

Me and my roomie, have had a very adventurous past week and half. From re-enacting scenes from the hills, to me teaching her how to make ramen noodles in the microwave. But this week has been extremely interesting. I've finally downloaded the hills theme song "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield and everytime we finish talking about something"dramatic" happened to us that day...i'll cue the music either on with my itunes playlist or with my mouth lol. But the most interesting part of this week has to be when we decided to do a random post it- note wall. With random quotes that were established in our room like the infamous"He's a butt-lickin, easy-mac makin, condom trottin, aids walking man." LMAO!

Then the party highlight of the week was the first ever toga party held here on campus, where I was a spartan princess and she was a cliche costume totin grecian.
Then there was that nite when she saw me without make-up for the first time.

AND in order to be ballin' like my boys up there, you gotta LOOK, DRESS, & ACT the part. In the days leading to my FIRST career fair (Sept.16), I'll be filling you in on some tips with fitting in with corporate standards and remaining sexy while doing so. Good luck on your job/internship search!

LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS/ THE FELLAS: A lot of women say there's nothing sexier than a guy in a suit. And it's true because when he's wearing a good suit, he automatically has that "GQ swagga." He becomes THE FLYEST, SEXIEST, MOST CONFIDENT MAN IN THE ROOM.

Go ahead and wear a business suit. A well fitting one at that - nothing baggy and not too tight. Get it tailored to fit *YOU* properly. If you opt not to, you can wear nice dress slacks and a nice fitting long-sleeved shirt. You don't necessarily have to wear a tie if you're not going with a suit, but if you do, pick a knot-tie.

AS FAR AS COLORS GO - STICK WITH NEUTRALS. You shouldn't go in YELLOW PANTS/SUIT. Play on the conservative side. Ex. Matching these will never fail: Blues, blacks, grays for pants. Whites, pastels for shirts. Dark tie, and shoes.

*Remember you want to rep not only yourself, but the company too.

Let them take you seriously. Take yourself seriously, please - don't look like a clown.

MY BB BRITNEY WILL BE AT THE VMAS TONIGHT!!! (or so they say.) I wouldn't put it past MTV to say she's going to be there to get people like me - all excited about Britney's comeback (Take II) - just for ratings. I don't know if she's performing or presenting (sources have been saying she is some say she isn't,) but either way - it'll be a big step. Unlike last year's VMAs, Britney fell short... um.. that's a polite way of putting it... of a comeback. She was a hot mess, but she's had a tough year due to mental illness. As of lately though, she's been looking good and getting her shit together so that's good! I hope she finally wins an award too because she IS what MTV is all about. So yea Im debating on whether I should take up the time to hook up my television in my room to tune in to the premiere of 90210. I mean after all of the friggin advertisements annoyingly adorned everywhere around New York and the campus I feel so forced to watch it. I don't think it will be narrowly as good as Gossip Girl or even Degrassi for that matter [even tho that red head chick aka Darcy is on this show now smh...] well i dont kno I kinda have well pretty much 10 minutes to decide idk, im just kinda really waiting on that "Fringe" show to come out on Fox...and since its not here yet, maybe Ill get into this. But then again how many shows can I watch that involve the not-so- modern day spoiled, rich white kid... The relation factor for me to this show is a infinite ZER00000000! but wat ev I got like 10 minutes tick tock tick tock... but then again its like 2 hours, maybe ill just catch it online on a rainy tuesday or something... hmmmm decisions decisions.. 9 minutes now.

So I wasn't an avid fan of this year's Summer Olympics. But everyday when I caught the C train to get to work, I picked up the AM New York paper and everyday it was yet another issue on the fakeness and the scandals of the Olympics. Im a Stinging Hornet Now!

Yes yes the rumours are true me loves... I am now an official DSU [Delaware State University] Stinging Hornet now. I have moved on from my ol' Penn State Days, and have transferred from a P.W.I. [Predominantly White Institutuion] to an H.B.C.U [Historically Black College/University] But after much dreaded goodbyes and tears, I have come to accept my new academic institution. I mean after watching movies such as; "Drumline", "Stomp The Yard" and the ever classic "School Daze" I am actually anxious to see what it is like. Im pretty sure it won't be anything like those movies, except for the sorroity and fraternity step shows, and the drum line battles. But none the less, im just happy to be around college folk again. My roomie seems mad cool, very decorative. Also may I add that the male population ain't too shabby. I gotta say its a big up from Penn State's testosterone pool. But my focus isnt on the boys, its on the books! My classes aren't all that creative but I do have 3 main classes for my Mass Communications major. The only issue is that I don't even have my friggin' books for class yet, and not because of my financial status, but because the got damn bookstore keeps running out of em', so I dare say wtf DSU! So I move into my dorm in about hmmmm.....3 days, I move into my new on campus abode. Riddled with the smell of Ramen Noodles, Victoria's Secret Pink Fragrance and Easy Mac. ....And I just mite fill the campus with the fresh and defined scent of OJ!!
