Ok so I've been waiting to write this blog for weeks now, so finally here it goes. So the latest trend in hair is to roc hairstyles that reflect the culture of the 1980's through the early 90's. So I've seen a couple of brothers bringing back the High Top Fade, the Gumby. And I've def noticed some of the ladies, including myself, bringing back the Asymetrical Cut. But I've noticed one infamous hip hop hairstyle missing. I mean it still hasn't come back yet, and not that I think it needs to, I just want to see the guy (or girl) who has the balls to try it. That's right I'm talkin about the Jheri Curl! That greasy, moist, curly mess of life that was the most noted icon of the 80s. I mean, Michael Rocked It, Eazy-E Rocked it and that lil light skinned boy from "Family Matters" Rocked it. Maybe nobody has brought the Jheri Curl back because it requires the use of many aeresol spray cans to maintain it, and I guess with Global Warming and what not that would be endangering the planet even more, or whatever. So please please please if there is a Jheri Curl sighting, I need pics and lots of em! even if it's one person rockin it to a party. So be on the lookout!

I Wanna Be, I Wanna Be, I Wanna Be like Spike!
So lately I've been thinking about what I want to be for next halloween. I know its a little early in the trick or treat'n game but when it comes to halloween i go all out. And I'm always looking to top last year's. However, Halloween 07 was a bit conformist for me. I did what every college girl does or did at least once, I went Hallo-Slut. Yea i went as a French Maid, and unlike the legit French I wasn't modest in the least...C fa yaself...

But anyway I've been thinking about Halloween 08 and at first I wanted to be the sexy femme version of the mad hatter, but that Wonderland Scene has been played out by every Becky, April and Heather on Campus. Then I was thinking I'd be Supermodel retired Angel Tyra Banks, but then again I don't want anyone but my current beau(oo so sexxy boo!) getting a peek at my undie garments. So after much research and debate with my cerebellum...I've decided to be Mars Blackmon, but im renaming myself Marsha Blackmon, cuz im always the female version, until I decide to be Grace Jones. Now for all of you "lames" who don't know who Mars Blackmon is, here's a brief summary(that i cut and pasted from Wikipedia...to save time)

and from here on I will be hunting down these specific(or similar) items between now and October 31st,2008 8:00pm to perfect my costume...
THE ITEMS
The infamous Brooklyn Cycling Cap(in Pink of Course!)
The Ombre Oversized Frames
The Mars Chain (that is like impossible to find!!)
The (Pink) Riding Gloves
The Grey Fitted Tee
The (Pink) Rib Tank
The (Pink) Patterned Cycling Spandex Shorts
The Custom Name Belt
and finally...The Infamous 'Do The Right Thing' Spizikes!

and with that my look will be complete!!! 7 MONTHS AND 23 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!

Now for all of you "lames" who don't know who Mars Blackmon is, here's a brief summary(that i cut and pasted from Wikipedia...to save time)"Mars Blackmon" was a fictional character from the 1986 film She's Gotta Have It. He is also the alter-ego of filmmaker Spike Lee. In the film, he was an immature, annoying, "Brooklyn-loving", sports-loving, die-hard New York Knicks fan. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, "Mars Blackmon" became the primary pitchman in Nike commercials for Air Jordans, the basketball shoes worn by former NBA player Michael Jordan. In these commercials, Mars Blackmon popularized the phrases "Is it the Shoes? Is it the Shoes? Is it the Shoes? … it's gotta be the shoes." and "Do you know?, Do you know?, Do you know?"
Ok so there it is, Im gonna be him. And just to give you the visuals... here's a pic...

I hate Sunny Side Up anyway!
So back in like 1987 a year before i premiered in my mommy's womb, came a lil known PSA ad...
And it was the most iconic ad until 1998 when 90s teen idol Rachael Leigh Cook went and remixed it! hmm.... speaking of which...where in the hell is she anyway?
