So the March issue of '
BLENDER' Mag was dedicated to the "Best of 2008". They basically listed 32 achievements thus far of this year. Like they put Weezy as The Best Rock Star Alive? hmm? I thought he was self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive? Huh? That def put a bigger swagger on his ego... I swear PCP's always tryna take one of ours and make it theirs. But anyways I was skipping through, blatantly skimming through the oodles of unknown old indie cult bands, when i abruptly stopped when i saw an article on kid sister. She was categorized under The Best Rap Boomlet. And I was so excited to read the article, until I saw the Headliner...HIPSTER HOP...WTF! Why must they call it hipster hop? I mean it's hip hop. Like they don't call bands like
Paramore or The
Foo Fighters Hipster Rock! so why must they do this to Goddesses like
Kid Sister and Gods like
Mikey Rocks and
Chuck Inglish? (
The Cool Kids)That's like when they tried to proclaim
Kanye and
Common as "Backpack Rap" like it's hip hip people, its hip hop. But however the article was a fairly good one. I was surprised that they mentioned such Myspace sensations like
Santogold and
Rye Rye. But what I did love however is that
Kid Sister (Melissa Young) told '
BLENDER' that she hates being called a Hipster and she prefers the term "ghetto nerd". and ohh don't we all?
