I DON'T CARE I LIKE Asher Roth's album, Asleep In the Bread Isle... LOL.

He's gotten a lot of flack for being white and sounding like Eminem (which he sung about see 'As I Em'), but I'll admit I'm impressed. It's a fun album. He's no Nas or Mos Def (best rappers alive in my opinion,) but he's not bad. Ngl, I was expecting lame lines, going on about di pum-pum he probably doesn't get and more stuff similar to 'I Love College,' but nope, I actually caught myself going "oh shit!" a couple of times.

"His Dream" is stands out. "Bad Day" had me cracking up. "She Don't Want a Man" with Keri Hilson is a decent dance track. Here's "Fallin"... my favorite pick.

Omg I can't believe I haven't made an OJFresh post about him yet. Sexy aint he? But looks aside, he's talented. He doesn't sing or rap, he makes THE music. He has potential to rival The Neptunes. Yes, I love Pharrell, Chad, and the other guy a whole lot, but Afta-1 is definitely up there. He's catching on in the indie-hip hop, neo-soul scene slowly and I hope he gets big. I had no idea that pop-punk band The Starting Line was on hiatus, yet alone its lead singer Kenny would be performing at the Movin' On Music Festival with his band, Person L. Wow. Kenny has definitely matured since the days of Starting Line. His voice is a lot richer and the lyrics are deeper. Davey and I agree they were the best of the day. This would be a great time to mention how I met him afterwards too *ahem, ahem* :) He's a genuinely great guy and really passionate about what he does. Ahh, I'm in love.

Friendly Fires, Friendly Fires

For my indie-heads, I introduce you to the band, FRIENDLY FIRES. I've been listening to their album for almost a month now on repeat and I can't get enough of them.

According to their MySpace, they're a trio from Europe and currently on tour with Lykke Li (featured here on the music player) right now. If you're a fan of Gossip Girl, you've heard their song, "White Diamonds" which was featured in the episode where they all visit Yale and Nate spots his "college fling."

With their electro-pop sound, I've got 10 bucks that says they'll be one of the most talked about bands like MGMT of '08 into '09. iTunes Genius links them with Death From Above 1979, Santo, Bloc Party and Sam Sparro... to which I concur lol.

Shaa aka Ms. FierRrce mentioned the concept of heel-less high heels in her post here and now they're for real!  Of course, leave it to the HBIC of fashionistas to debut it to us common folk. 

Victoria Beckham is rocking the boots version. I can't speak for others, but I think they look so uncomfortable and not cool for everyday wear. I'd hate to be on my toes all day, lol. But kudos, to you mama... one small heel-less step for fashionistas!

MY BB BRITNEY WILL BE AT THE VMAS TONIGHT!!! (or so they say.) I wouldn't put it past MTV to say she's going to be there to get people like me - all excited about Britney's comeback (Take II) - just for ratings. I don't know if she's performing or presenting (sources have been saying she is some say she isn't,) but either way - it'll be a big step. Unlike last year's VMAs, Britney fell short... um.. that's a polite way of putting it... of a comeback. She was a hot mess, but she's had a tough year due to mental illness. As of lately though, she's been looking good and getting her shit together so that's good! I hope she finally wins an award too because she IS what MTV is all about. You can't talk about MTV or pop culture with talking about my Britney fucking Spears.
